Oxiea:
"This week's topic: Intimacy is a topic that is very present in my artistic practice. For example I remember during my second year in my bachelor we had an assignment called: De Fence. For this project I focused on the boundaries that we have with strangers. I wanted to overcome those boundaries as I am curious and I enjoy adapting to different roles. You can see some results from that project on my website: https://oxieavillamonte.com/roadscrossing/
I think that during this pandemic intimacy becomes even more valuable. The other day I hugged someone and I did not want that embrace to end. Human contact is necessary. I can imagine that this pandemic has made the majority of people quite lonely and I am concerned about how this will affect people's mental health of all ages.
How do you feel about intimacy? Do you think that your feelings have changed due to the pandemic?
"
Hue:
"Yes, human contact is necessary and I think intimacy is about trust.
Becoming intimate with someone can also mean getting to know each other in new ways. Closer.
I hate being touched unexpectedly, in the passive ways by those people I don't close. Like just put me in the crowds, sometimes it's okay, but other times it feels like I'm being suffocated. Feel like my "breathing room" is shrinking. I know that everyone has different comfort levels and they convey it unconsciously. But people have different capacities for it, right?
So it's called "the comfort zone" for a reason. We all need water tanks and hiding places sometimes.
Hmm, I don't know what I'm saying.
